The Voorhees Soccer Association and its sponsors are pleased to announce the 2008 Memorial Day Classic on May 23,24,25, and 26 in Voorhees, New Jersey.
Format Age groups U9-U13 will have Premier, Gold and Silver flights, U14-U15 will be Premier and Gold, and U16-U18 will be Premier only. Each team will play a minimum of 4 games. Friday night games will be for local teams only. Semi-finals and/or finals for U11-U18 will be played on Monday. As required by NJYSA, there will be no finals for U9-U10 teams, and neither scores nor standings will be maintained.
Age Groups Boys and girls teams will be based on USYSA age groups for U9-U17.
Eligibility This is a USYSA-sanctioned tournament through the New Jersey State Youth Soccer Association. All teams must be affiliated with the USYSA and be in good standing with their state association. US Club teams are eligible. All-Star and Select Teams are ineligible. Each team will be allowed 3 guest players(2 for U9-U10) and a roster limit of 18 players (14 players for U9-U10). No secondary cards accepted.
Referees A USSF 3-man referee will be used for all matches. All referees will be state-licensed.
Application Mailed applications must be postmarked no later than March 31, 2008 with the entry fee of $495 ($425 for U9 and U10). If you apply online, the entry fee must be received within 10 days of applying and must also be postmarked no later than March 31, 2008. Checks must be made payable to VSA.
Acceptances will be emailed on or about April 15, 2008. Any team accepted then declining for any reason will not be refunded their entry fee.
Registration Registration will be from 4:00-9:00pm on Friday, May 23, 2008 at Soccer Locker, in Voorhees, New Jersey. Click here for directions to registration. Special arrangements can be made for teams over 2 hours away. Please contact us by email.
Player passes, permission to travel (for out-of-state teams), a copy of your certified roster and notarized medical release forms will be checked at that time. ONLY '07/2008 PLAYER PASSES AND ROSTERS MAY BE USED.
Notification All correspondence will be by email. Flight assignments, directions and other information will be posted on our web site as it becomes available.
Awards Awards will be presented to finalists and champions in each U11-U18 flights. Each player in U9and U10 will receive a participation medal. Exchanging of club patches or pins between competing teams is requested.
